Hockey Nova Scotia, in partnership with the Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League, announced today that a Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League franchise has been awarded in Region 4.

After a thorough selection process, a submission from Kevin Baillie, Shawn Foote, Ian Haverstock, Daryl Joseph, and Ange MacCabe was chosen as the winning bid for the region.

The Region 4 boundaries include players from the TASA Minor Hockey Association, Chebucto Minor Hockey Association, Chester Minor Hockey Association, and the South Shore Minor Hockey Association.

Hockey Nova Scotia began soliciting bids last month.

The franchise will be branded as the U16AAA Buccaneers Hockey Club during the upcoming 2022-23 Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League season. The operating group will be launching their new brand next week on social media and are looking forward to building on the strong foundation that was established by the operators of the Admirals Hockey Club, the former Region 4 franchise.
